Philosophy and Mission

We at, Decroly Learning Child Care Center believe that our program and services offer developmentally appropriate curriculum and we strive to enhance social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in young children. Our program fosters curiosity, creativity and self-esteem by considering children’s abilities and interests. Child initiated and teacher supported play is an essential component of our program. We foster equal opportunity in learning and education for all children regardless of race, creed, sex, religion, national origin, or physical condition.

Mission

The mission of the Decroly Learning Child Care Center is to provide safe, affordable, high quality child care for the students of Homestead Community. We provide high quality educational, recreational and cultural activities and comprehensive services in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. IN doing so, we support families in their efforts to reach their goals. The Decroly Learning Child Care provides a cognitively based program for children ages six weeks to five years. We provide a home like environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. The Decroly Learning Child Care Center staff is committed to the families we serve, providing support and encouragement. Decroly Learning Child Care Center is to nurture the "whole child" in areas of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development. This will be achieved through providing a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate and recognizes the individual needs and differences of children. Through Decroly Learning Child Care Center principles and teacher-assisted and directed activities, children are encouraged to be independent thinkers and life-long learners.
